The platform
Platform Forensic Sexology is an initiative by senior researcher Dr. Wineke Smid and psychologist-sexologist Klaartje Schepers MSc, aimed at reducing the number of victims of sexually transgressive behavior by making knowledge and skills readily accessible to all professionals involved in the assessment and treatment of (potential) offenders.
Wineke Smid
Wineke Smid is the head of the research department at the forensic psychiatric Van der Hoeven Clinic in Utrecht. She conducted a nationwide study on risk assessment of sexual offenders in the Netherlands and is involved in various research projects, including those focused on sexual deviance and the Incentive Motivational Model. Additionally, she performs risk assessments for sexual patients in the clinic and provides various trainings on sexual offenses to police officers, public prosecutors, judges, therapists, and probation officers. Wineke is a SAARNA-certified master trainer in STATIC-STABLE-ACUTE and associate editor of the international journal Sexual Abuse. She is also co-founder of NL-ATSA, the Dutch chapter of ATSA.

Klaartje Schepers
Klaartje Schepers, as a psychologist-sexologist, has gained clinical experience in treating sexually criminal, transgressive, and/or compulsive behavior within forensic care and addiction care. As a scientist-practitioner, Klaartje has contributed to scientific research regarding sexual offenders. In post-HBO and post-academic education, she teaches (forensic) sexology based on clinical practice. Klaartje is a certified Sexologist (NVVS) and a registered healthcare psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) in training to become a Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist, among others at the Sexology outpatient clinic of Amsterdam UMC. She is an internationally recognized trainer in STATIC-STABLE-ACUTE and co-founder of NL-ATSA, the Dutch chapter of ATSA.
