STATIC-STABLE-ACUTE (6 months access)
€675,00
The SSA, the combination of the STATIC-99R, STABLE-2007, and ACUTE-2007, is a risk assessment tool for sexual offenders developed by the Society for the Advancement of Actuarial Risk Need Assessment (SAARNA), which has been internationally researched and validated. The tool is continuously evolving, which is why updates to the manual and training are occasionally necessary. Furthermore, research shows that the impact of risk assessment is greater when each offender undergoes a thorough assessment conducted by a well-trained evaluator. This enables us to identify high-risk offenders at an early stage and ensure they receive the treatment and supervision they need. This leads to reduced sexual recidivism and therefore fewer victims.
The SSA may only be administered by professionals within the forensic (care) chain who have successfully completed this training under the supervision of an internationally recognized trainer.
The new blended SSA training aims to train as many professionals as possible across the entire forensic chain (from reporting to treatment to supervision) in carrying out reliable and valid risk assessments for sexual offenders, in order to collectively reduce the number of victims as much as possible.
This blended training is provided by internationally certified trainers: Dr. Wineke Smid, Dr. Jan Willem van den Berg, Mieke Breij MSc, Dr. Kasia Uzieblo, Minne de Boeck MSc, Alana Schuerwegen BSc, and Klaartje Schepers MSc.
The SSA blended training consists of:
- A completely revised and updated scoring manual containing the scoring rules for all items of STATIC-99R, STABLE-2007, and ACUTE-2007, including all updates and research up to 2023 (216 pages).
- A new interpretation manual with all figures and tables for interpreting the SSA, including developments on Standardized Risk Levels and risk adjustment based on the offense-free period (74 pages).
- Online modules and assessments guiding the participant carefully through the manuals at their own pace, including quizzes and case studies (6 modules).
- Three online sessions with experienced trainers. During these sessions, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, receive additional explanations, and practice with sample cases in small groups (3 × 2 hours).
- A certificate of participation, optional registration in an online register, and optional subscription to a mailing list for future updates.
Key conditions for participation:

- The minimum entry requirement for participation is a prior education of HBO level or higher. Additionally, the (care) professional must work with (potential) sexual offenders. The Platform for Forensic Sexology reserves the right to verify this.

- The certificate and optional registration in the online quality register confirm that the professional has successfully completed the 2023 SSA training and is authorized to administer the tool reliably in the forensic field.
